1st Nine Weeks Awards Ceremony

Wednesday, Nov. 6th, Nebo will host our 1st Nine Weeks Awards Ceremony

11:00-12:00-4th and 5th Grade Award Ceremony
12:30-1:30-Kindergarten and 1st Grade Award Ceremony
1:35-2:35-2nd and 3rd Grade Award Ceremony

We are asking that students not be checked out after the awards ceremony. Attendance matters each and every day!

Honoring Coach Laney

On Wednesday, Nov. 6th, Nebo is hosting a Spirit Day in honor of Coach Laney. Coach Laney was a longtime coach and athletic director and served McDowell County Schools for 40 years. He coached basketball and baseball at Nebo High. Coach Laney was a well-respected member of our community and school system.

We are asking our students and staff to wear a sports team jersey, t-shirt, or a Nebo Elementary School shirt in order to honor Coach Laney.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is October 28th - November 1st. Our school is participating in this week of awareness and celebration of our pledge to be drug free!


Monday the 28th is "Drugs are ridiculous" Day! Wear your most ridiculous/wacky clothes combos!
Tuesday the 29th is "Follow your dreams, be drug free" Day! Wear your pajamas!
Wednesday the 30th is "Drugs turn you inside out" Day! Wear your clothes inside out!
Thursday the 31st is "Disguise yourself from drugs" Day! Wear a costume (NO masks or weapons)
Friday, November 1st is "Put a cap on drugs" Day! Wear your favorite hat!
