My name is Rachel Medford. I am a 2016 graduate of Mars Hill University with a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Elementary Education. I live in Woodlawn with my wonderful husband Zack. We have been married for six years and enjoy cooking and gardening together. I maintain a close relationship with my parents, sister and brother who all live in North Cove. We are members of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where I co-teach the Beginner’s Class and serve as a church pianist. I have worked at Linville Caverns for the past ten years, and love every minute! I enjoy meeting new people and watching their fascination upon seeing Linville Caverns for the first time.
My love of teaching started at an early age. I am a fourth generation teacher. My mother, Ellen Mace, is a kindergarten teacher at North Cove Elementary. Her love for students and passion to serve her community have been my lifelong source of inspiration. I love working with children, and want to see them become successful adults. I believe everyone can learn, regardless of background or circumstance. I have enjoyed my first year as a Nebo Bear, and hope to make many happy memories here!
